As has become tradition, the Miner team assembled four bikes at our Dec. 18 holiday party. The bikes will be donated through the United Way of the Adirondack Region to children in foster care. This has become such a valued tradition for our team. It is a fun team-building activity that has so much meaning.
Our holiday party also featured a charity auction. This has been party of the Miner Institute holiday festivities since 2011, when Research Technician Maggie Carter and her husband Mike started the fun charitable activity. Since its inception, the auction has raised more than $11,000 for the JCEO, which seeks to eradicate poverty by providing resources that help promote self-reliance in Clinton and Franklin Counties. This year's auction brought in $1,160.
We are humbled by the generosity of our staff and so pleased to be able to carry on this part of William and Alice Miner's legacy by giving back to the North Country. We wish everyone a happy holiday season and a healthy 2025.
